Prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA PET) highlights cancer cells by absorption of radiation from a diagnostic isotope (i.e., 68Ga). That isotope connects with a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) on prostate gland cells or PC cells. It may be used to help diagnose prostate cancer that may have recurred or spread to other parts of the body.
